GENERAL STRIKE IN BELGIUM - 22 DECEMBER 2011

    20/12/11

We have been advised of a general strike in Belgium from 22:00 on Wednesday 21 December until 22:00 on Thursday 22 December. As a result, the Belgian rail network will be closed and Eurostar plus onward connecting rail services will not be able to operate to or from Brussels during this period.

On Thursday 22 December, a number of special trains will operate between London and Lille Europe station only.  A limited replacement bus service will be in place between Lille Europe and Brussels Midi stations.  However, demand is likely to be extremely high for these buses and we expect congestion at the stations as a result.  If travellers are booked to travel on Thursday 22 December (or on the 19:04 departure from London on Wednesday 21 December) we recommend they exchange their ticket to travel either before or after Thursday 22 December.  Eurostar will allow exchanges regardless of ticket conditions however will be subject to space availability on alternative services.

Those who wish to re-book, or are unable to travel and would like to refund their tickets, should contact their original point of sale. Refunds can be done anytime in the next 2 months.

    PARIS NORD EXTENSION WORKS UPDATE

    08/12/11

The extension works to Paris Gare du Nord are well on their way so here’s an update on how they’re progressing:

Our new ticket office opened in October and we’ll soon be making further improvements to minimise queues through check-in and security.

From 15 December the only way to access the Eurostar check-in area will be via the main stairs and escalator opposite platform 17. Travellers with restricted mobility will still be able to use the lifts.

Throughout January 2012 we recommend travellers allow extra time for check-in as there may be queues resulting from the works. From February we expect check-in times to return to normal.

Click here to see the new route to check-in and find out what the layout will look like throughout December.

EUROSTAR PUBLIC FARE RANGE FROM 13 DECEMBER 2011

    5/12/11

Effective 13 December 2011 there will be some changes to our public fare range.

Please click here to download the latest fare guide

A summary of these changes are as follows:

    • Any Belgian Station - small increase of between £0.50 to £1.00 one-way across the range due to adjustment of the SNCB fee

To guarantee the current prices, please finalise any provisional bookings by Monday 12 December 2011.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION IN BELGIUM - FRIDAY 2 DECEMBER

    02/12/11

There is likely to be disruption to transport in Belgium due to industrial action today.

This will not affect Eurostar services but travellers may experience delays in Brussels and on Belgian train services. We therefore recommend your customers allow more time than usual to get to or from Brussels-Midi/Zuid station.

A large demonstration will take place in Brussels from 10:00 until 14:00. This will affect road traffic in Brussels as a number of roads will be closed. Public transport (metro, tram and buses) is also likely to be disrupted, and delays and cancellations may affect some Belgian train services.

We cannot predict the exact nature or timing of the disruptions, so please check www.sncb.be for any last minute updates.

UK BORDER AGENCY STRIKE ACTION - WEDNESDAY 30 NOVEMBER

    30/11/11

We have been informed by UKBA that the strike planned for today, Wednesday 30 November, is likely to impact Eurostar passengers.

As we expect fewer UKBA staff than normal to be available at our Paris and Brussels terminals, passengers may encounter delays upon check-in, in particular in the afternoon. Trains could also be delayed on departure.

We recommend that travellers arrive at our Paris and Brussels stations one hour before departure, rather than the usual 30 minutes.

Those passengers who are booked on trains today who no longer wish to travel can exchange their tickets for another date free of charge through their original point of sale. This can be done anytime in the next 2 months.

Please note that the UK Border Agency is not able to carry out passport checks on departure from Marne-la-Vallée station (Disneyland® Paris). Passports are checked on arrival in the UK. As a result, customers should expect some queuing on arrival. Please bear this in mind if travellers are making any onward travel plans.

Eurostar services departing from the UK should not be affected.

Eurostar would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

UPDATE: UK BORDER AGENCY STRIKE ACTION TOMORROW

    29/11/11 @ 16:00

We have just received information from the UK Border Agency that Eurostar services may be affected by tomorrow's strike action which could result in delays to Eurostar services.

Please advise travellers to allow extra time wherever possible for check-in.

We will provide further information as it becomes available.

UK BORDER AGENCY STRIKE ACTION ON WEDNESDAY 30 NOVEMBER
EUROSTAR SERVICES WILL NOT BE AFFECTED

    28/11/11

Some UK Border Agency staff will be taking part in planned public sector industrial action this Wednesday 30 November.

We do not anticipate any major delays for Eurostar passengers leaving London, however we have been advised that there will be a reduced number of UKBA officials in London St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Ashford International therefore travellers may experience some delays when returning to the UK.

As a reminder, the UK Border Agency are no longer able to carry out passport checks on departure from Marne-la-Vallée station (Disneyland® Paris) therefore passports are checked on arrival in the UK. As a result, customers should expect some queuing on arrival. These queues are likely to be longer on Wednesday due to the planned industrial action, so please bear this in mind if making any onward travel plans.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

CHANGES TO OUR BUSINESS PREMIER FARE RANGE

    28/11/11

From Tuesday 7 February 2012 we will be making some changes to our Business Premier fare range.

Please click here for a summary of the Business Premier fare range changes

Since 2006, we have continued to invest heavily in our product. We launched services from St Pancras in 2007, enabling faster, more punctual and more productive journeys whilst working strenuously to improve our fleet. The latter is something that we will improve even more in the upcoming years with a complete overhaul of our existing fleet and the purchase of ten new trains.

To guarantee the current prices, please finalise any held bookings by Monday 6 February 2012. Exchanges can be made on the GDS or through our eurostar4agents team up to 60 days after departure.

    2012 DIRECT DISNEY SERVICE

    OLYMPIC PERIOD BOOKING REMINDER

    14/11/11

Just a quick reminder that sales are open for travel during the London 2012 Olympic Games Period of 16 July to 15 August 2012 (inclusive) between London, Paris and Brussels.

Until the normal booking horizon opens on 20 March 2012, sales can be made by clicking here. All tickets must be paid for in full at time of booking. If you are a Tour Operator who already has a contract with Eurostar you may be able to book seats on a block space basis.

For more information on block space bookings, please click here or contact Eurostar4agents on 08448 224334 or via email at eurostar4agents@eurostar.com

PASSPORT CHECKS AT MARNE-LA-VALLÉE STATION (DISNEYLAND® PARIS)

    11/11/11

The UK Border Agency is no longer able to carry out passport checks on departure from Marne-la-Vallée station (Disneyland® Paris), so will instead check passports on arrival in the UK.

Travellers may therefore experience a short wait before leaving the Eurostar terminal in the UK, so please advise your customers to allow an extra 30 minutes for any onward connections.

MODERNISING THE PARIS STATION FOR A SMOOTHER JOURNEY

    25/10/11

Over the next few months there will be various renovations in Paris Gare du Nord, all intended to smooth travellers journeys and give a timely makeover.

The changes will open up the space between check-in and the departure lounge to ease the journey through security and passport controls, particularly at busy times.

The first change is our brand new ticket office which is now open, soon to be followed by improvements to minimise queues through check-in and security.

During these renovations, we advise Standard and Standard Premier travellers to allow extra time on top of the normal 30 minute check-in, particularly between December 2011 and February 2012.

Wherever possible we will keep 10 minute check-in for Business Premier travellers and Eurostar™ carte blanche holders. Throughout January 2012 however we do expect some queues so we would advise that travellers allow extra time and look out for the dedicated Business Premier/Eurostar™ carte blanche line at check-in.

For further information please click here

We’ll keep you updated as things progress.

EUROSTAR SERVICE UPDATE - MONDAY 10 OCTOBER 2011

The new taxi booking service will be identical to the existing service currently offered to our carte blanche members, with travellers paying direct to the driver.

With the introduction of this new taxi service and declining demand for the Business Premier plus Chauffeur fare, this fare will no longer be available for sale from 11 October.  Any tickets purchased before 11 October will be valid for travel until 10 February, and can be exchanged up to 60 days after purchase.

While there is currently availability, given the high level of demand, seats on these additional Eurostar services are expected to sell quickly. Tickets are bookable through all channels apart from GDS which we have not been able to include due to the short time frame for loading the trains.

    UPDATE TO GDS AVAILABILITY ISSUES

    16/05/11

We are pleased to advise that our schedules and availability have been restored to display our full schedule for all 9F services in Sabre and Amadeus. However the neutral availability display in Galileo will not fully reflect all our current services until the morning of Tuesday 17 May. In the meantime Galileo users should continue to use the 9F Carrier Specific Display (*9F) to view and sell the full Eurostar schedule.

    Example entry:

    A19MAYQQSXPG*9F

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.com or on 08448 224 334 with any queries.

NEW EUROSTAR PUBLIC FARE RANGE FROM 24 MAY 2011

    16/05/11

From 24 May 2011 there will be a number of changes to our public fare range.

For full details of these fares, please click here.

A summary of these changes are as follows:

    • Youth and Senior - these fares will now only be offered in BX. Prices are based on a 5% discount off the Adult lead-in fare. All other Youth and Senior fares will no longer be valid for sale. (Please note that changes to Youth and Senior fares will not apply to the current Avignon season).
    • UK to Any Belgian Station - some fares on this route are subject to a £0.50 price reduction.

To guarantee the current prices, please finalise any bookings held before Tuesday 24 May 2011.

    AVAILABILITY ISSUES ON GDS

    13/05/11

Eurostar are currently experiencing problems with some 9F services missing in Galileo, Sabre and Amadeus between 16 and 30 May 2011. We are working with our suppliers to resolve this issue as soon as possible for all GDS availability displays.

An interim measure for Galileo agents is to use the neutral availability screen where you will be able to view and sell all 9F services during this period.

    For example:  A16MAYQQSXPG

Do not use the Carrier Specific Display with the *9F at the end of your availability entry.

We will send a further communication when the problem has been resolved.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this is causing you.

Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.com or on 08448 224 334 with any queries.

IMPORTANT ANY DUTCH STATION RIT FARE UPDATE

    01/04/11

Until 12 April RIT fares to Any Dutch Station will need to be confirmed as an open segment (unreserved seats) between Brussels and Amsterdam in order for a ticket to be valid to Any Dutch Station.

    For Example (2 passengers travelling):

    0SNOPENB19JANBXSAMSNO2 (outbound)
    0SNOPENB20JANAMSBXSNO2 (Inbound)

To fare quote please use the passenger type SZ for adults and ZZ for children rather than TA / TC. This is for Any Dutch Station only.

An update will be carried out to resolve this issue on the 12 April. To avoid tickets being cancelled please confirm all bookings before this date.

Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.com or on 08448 224 334 with any queries

    GALILEO, SABRE AND AMADEUS ISSUES

    31/03/11

We are currently experiencing GDS (Galileo, Sabre, Amadeus) issues with some agents receiving 'UC' status codes immediately following the creation of a new booking on Eurostar.  The cause of the problem is related to specific seat assignment requests and is currently being resolved.

In the meantime, please be aware that if a specific seat assignment is requested at the same time as the PNR is initially created, you will receive a 'UC' status after the 'End of Transaction' stage of your booking.  Until the permanent fix has been loaded, please do not request a specific seat assignment during the initial booking process.  All other booking and ticketing transactions are unaffected.

We will update your further as soon as the situation is resolved.  We apologise for the inconvenience this may be causing you.

    GDS AVAILABILITY ISSUES - UPDATE

    22/03/11

We are pleased to confirm that the availability issue for Galileo users on the Brussels route is now resolved.  Full testing has been completed and the fix verified by both Eurostar and Travelport. All availability entries are now supported.

Thank you for your patience whilst we dealt with this issue.

Please contact Eurostar4agents on 08448 224334 or email eurostar4agents@eurostar.com with any queries.

ENGINEERING WORKS ON THE FRENCH HIGH SPEED LINE - MARCH AND APRIL

    15/03/11

Due to engineering works on the French High Speed line, there will be slight amendments to the departure times of Eurostar services from Paris to London during March and April.

As a consequence, Eurostar services on the Paris to London route will depart between 6 and 12 minutes earlier than advertised.

Please click on the dates below for full details:

All other routes, including London to Paris services, remain unaffected.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please contact Eurostar4agents on 08448 224334 or email eurostar4agents@eurostar.com with any queries.

    GDS AVAILABILITY ISSUES

    02/03/11

We are pleased to be able to confirm good progress for Galileo users.

If you perform a carrier specific availability search e.g A03MARZYRQQS*9F you will receive the correct availability levels displayed for all classes and can sell in the normal manner.

If you perform a neutral availability search e.g A03MARZYRQQS you will receive a response that displays J class closed (JC), but you can still sell in the normal manner 'N1J1' and receive a confirmation if space is actually available.

Going forward, the changes we implemented to correct the Sabre display will not perform in the same way with Galileo so we shall continue to work with Travelport to find a solution. In the meantime, availability will continue to be incorrect on the affected Brussels services when applying a neutral availability search so we recommend that you apply the carrier specific availability search entry until a fix is found.

    We will keep you updated.

    GDS AVAILABILITY ISSUES

    01/03/11

Further to our notification of yesterday, we are pleased to advise Sabre users that the availability issue with Business Premier on our Brussels service has been resolved and is now displaying correctly.

We are still working closely with Travelport on some further changes that need to be made in order for this to be corrected in the Galileo display. We will update further once these are complete.

Thank you for your continued patience.

    GDS AVAILABILITY ISSUES

    28/02/11

Eurostar is experiencing availability issues on the Brussels - London route in Galileo and Sabre. Some trains are showing zero capacity in Business Premier even though there are seats available.
This has been escalated to our Distribution team who are urgently working towards a resolution.
If you have a request from your clients to book this route and class, we would recommend you use the following workarounds:

If the availability shows '0', please book as a request. If a KK response is not received:

    a) for bookings today or within the next few days, please contact E4A on 08448 224 334 (select option 1) who will provide assistance.

    b) for bookings for a later date, please check in a few days to see if the problem has been resolved.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this is causing you. We will send further communications when the problem has been resolved.

INTRODUCTION OF FIXED FEE FOR SEMI-FLEXIBLE FARES

    14/02/11

From 1 March 2011 we will be introducing a fixed fee of £22/€33 for refunding semi-flexible Eurostar fares. This will replace the current 15% fee.

A fixed fee rather than a percentage fee will increase the clarity of our refund conditions as the fee will always be the same regardless of the fare.  It will also bring it into line with the fixed fee for exchanges of semi-flexible fares.

Please click on the links below for further information:

Our fully-flexible fares will continue to be refundable without a fee.

As always, thanks for your ongoing support.
